The community garden project has different members from the Morecombe Bay Health Trust at the Kendal site such as nurses from the wards and staff in the offices and estates department.

We have dramatically changed the courtyard over the last few years with the new raised beds, seating, and disabled access work station. Our volunteers and service users have been supported to give something back to the community here on site by developing the courtyard area.

Young people some of whom are not in education, employment or training have given time, energy and ideas to create and maintain the herb, vegetable and flower garden.

Yr 3 2015 Community Roots Project sees how the community garden at the hospital site has completely developed with nursing staff, wards and volunteers using the garden and the raised beds for fruit, flowers and vegetables. We were thrilled to win the “love your community” Gold award from the Kendal Town Council.

We have worked with many local professionals, volunteers from schools and young people thanks to everyone!
